Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talentedĀ Drainage EngineerĀ to join our team! In this role you will get to m anage design of non-conventional/smart drainage systems and Sustainable Urban Drainage systems.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Independently carry out design of stormwater drainage systems for various projects
- Manage design of non-conventional/smart drainage systems and Sustainable Urban Drainage systems
- Design groundwater drainage systems and groundwater modelling for various projects
- Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
- Carry out CAD-related tasks while using special 3D software and model creation.
- Shall have knowledge of runoff calculations manually and using software HEC HMS, SewerGEMS and InfoWorks ICM.
- Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project. He may be required to carry out CAD-related tasks himself while using special 3D software and model creation.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Prepares or assists in preparing fundamental engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
- Assists in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.
- Under the guidance of a more senior engineer, assists in reviewing supplier drawing submittals and technical bid analyses.
- Assists in the preparation and issuance of specifications, datasheets, and other construction documents.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable university, Masters degree would be an added advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in drainage system design, related to infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
- Experience of designing culverts, urban drainage systems and highway drainage is required
- Experience and knowledge of catchment delineation, principles of hydrology and hydraulics, application of software tools, and report writing
- Knowledge of runoff calculations manually and using software HEC HMS, SewerGEMS and InfoWorks ICM (must).
- Experience in the design of non-conventional/smart drainage systems and Sustainable Urban Drainage system is requisite
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
- Hands on experience on civil 3D and knowledge of GIS is must
- Familiar with hydraulic modeling, both open channels and closed channel systems, use of software for carrying out hydrology and hydraulic analysis, and evaluating model results.
- Familiar with GIS and CAD tools such as ArcMap, AutoCAD, and Microstation
- Candidates working towards professional qualifications (PE, ICE, CIWEM) etc. will be preferred.
- Aware of the requirements for proposing pump stations and relevant standards.
- Shall be a team played with proven ability to work under pressure / multi tasks and meet the deadlines
