Farm Job Vacancies

We are seeking individuals who enjoy working on a farm. To engage us in different roles and or specialties. Our 300+ acre farm is developing into an integral part of our campus and community.

Thornwell intends for LushAcres Farm to be an exemplary model of creative farm related entrepreneurship, land stewardship and community development.

If you are skilled in one of the roles listed below and looking to make some extra money on a as needed basis, this may be a perfect match.

Both traditional and diesel mechanic skills would be preferred, but we could potentially enlist one of each.

Needed to work on and service our tractors, equipment, and vehicles for the farm. To include fixing things when they are broken down as well as routine maintenance and servicing.

We have a stocked shop with tools. Any specific tools needed could be purchased by the farm. We would not need someone with a fitted work truck, although if they prefer to use their tools that’s fine.

Needed to work and fabricate materials for farm use as well as modifications for farm equipment.

We have an AC only SMA welder right now but anticipate purchasing a multi-processor unit to allow us more flexibility.

Someone who can help us keep up the grounds around the office, shop, entrance, market, playground, and pond houses.

Currently one of our staff is having to do this once a week or at least every two weeks. This would be seasonal for when the grass is growing.

In time this might include landscaping and managing those areas around the entrance and market.

We could potentially use two people with some livestock background to assist us in working cattle when needed.

Don’t need extensive background as we can train them to what we need.

We could use about 4 or more people for this position.

This would be to assist in crop activities such as planting, pruning, cultivating, and picking/sorting.

Some background would be beneficial, but not required.

Help with filing, replying to phone calls, sorting receipts, and compiling reports.

Experience with Excel and Word would almost be required.

Experience with Square and/or Quickbooks would be an added benefit.

Someone who can make deliveries or pickups when needed.

Someone with experience in pulling trailers (cattle and/or equipment).

Just some people who can do, or learn to do, just about anything. We work on so many projects that include carpentry, small mechanics, tractor work (i.e., bush hogging and/or baling), as well as general clean up.
