Full Job Description
The Role
What’s the role?
To ensure the safe and efficient operation of bulk fuel products at the terminal. (Receipt, Storage, Discharge, Product Quality, Terminal Maintenance, Managing HSSE, Contractor Management)
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate at the correct standards in a team that provides receipt, storage and loading operations and takes care of calling-out maintenance and supply of product under existing agreements
- Ensure safe receipt of the right product into the correct tank
- Comply and enforce HSSE standards and procedures including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements to all staff and contractors on site
- Responsible for Terminal site inductions (Contractors and visitors)
- Lead terminal Operations and HSSE meetings.
- Take corrective action when drivers, contractors, crews or personnel do not obey rules.
- Steer and control the product receipt, storage and loading operations at the terminal.
- Check all products are in line with specifications (Conduct PQ tests), apply terminal handling and product transfer procedures and apply product control and measurement (TOM Requirements).
- Execute tank dipping and sampling, water draining (TOM Requirements)
- Full implementation of permit to work system / confined space entry, control of electrostatic hazards and working at heights etc. (LPI)
- Ensure safe handling and accurate additive dosing per product, product testing and quality control
- Execute emergency response plan, basic fire fighting and first aid
- Being the terminal’s representative after hours and weekends to ensure operations continuity.
- Remain in constant communication with the Terminal Manager / Terminal Operation Supervisor – to be able to stop operations in case of emergency.
- Assist TOS with incident and stock losses/gains investigation by providing relevant data.
- Bulk loading gantry focal point to assist maximizes the gantry utilization and manages downtime.
- DGAME – Terminal maintenance and breakdowns execution, ensure accurate history/time confirmation captured and work-orders are closed on time and properly on the system.
- Check and issue truck Safe Loading Pass
- Compile daily/monthly KPI for reporting purposes.
What we need from you?
- Degree/ Diploma- Operations management, Commerce, Business management, or any equivalent qualification
- Matric
- SOT accredited – NQF- level 2 Chemical Operations
- 2-5years working experience in a Terminal Operations is a must
- Mechanical aptitude.
- HSSE – Sphera / Investigations and reporting.
- Good Communications with Stakeholders
- Team Leader and people’s management skills.
- Terminal Operations – Skill
- Product Handling and Control – knowledge
- Depot Operations and Asset Management – Knowledge
- HSSE Management – Knowledge
- PTW- knowledge to Lead Permit Issuer
- Authorized Gas Tester
- MOC – knowledge- Skill level and able to manage/approve MOC
- Computer and GSAP System, D-Game
- Shift pattern and or flexi-time as per Operations requirements.
- Fulfil physical conditions for executing maintenance works, repairs etc., e.g. being free from guidelines.
- Able to work under pressure and unsupervised.
