Veterinary Assistant
Job Description
You ensure the hygiene of premises and equipment. *** This part of “cleaning” represents a large part of the job function. *** You accompany the veterinarian to medical acts and provide care to animals according to medical and surgical needs. You welcome customers. You are on a fixed-term contract until August and then in apprenticeship for 2 years.
Qualification: Skilled employee
Required profile:
Experience: Beginner accepted
Education: Baccalaureate or equivalent
Skills sought:
- Identify the reason for consultation and its degree of urgency and inform the client about the terms of care for the animal
- Prepare and install the animal (disinfection, shaving, caging, …)
- Prepare the equipment and provide technical assistance to the veterinarian, the breeder, …
- Advise on food, care, medication for the animal or proceed with the sale of drugs, nutritional intake
- Disinfect and decontaminate equipment
- Destroy waste
- Maintain a workstation
