The Role

Responsible for driving consumer acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives for our all-access audience. The Audience Manager – All-Access Digital will own development of campaigns and coordinate execution of direct marketing and digital creative materials, requesting and verifying list coordination and technical set-up, communicating processes for execution, selecting vendors, and obtaining resources for implementation to deliver on audience volume and revenue goals.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement direct marketing acquisition, engagement & retention campaigns to include online, email, telemarketing, social media and other channels as appropriate for all access audience base.
  • Work closely with Audience Growth & Development Manager along with the Audience Retention and Engagement Analyst to develop and recommend marketing strategy for all-access audience.
  • Collaborate and work closely with the Digital Manager in identifying engagement best practices for digital platforms and social media initiatives.
  • Own KPIs related to all-access subscription acquisition, engagement, and retention along with social media efforts.
  • Manage relationships with outside vendors to include but not limited to list management & coordination vendor, mail houses and printers.
  • Collaborate with outside list management vendor to determine data selection and merge/purge execution to ensure appropriate segmentation for campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Department for creative elements and submit work requests as needed.
  • Manage campaigns to ensure optimal response and retention.
  • Understand processes surrounding testing, lead selection, execution, reporting and analysis.
  • Use data and analytics to identify the best opportunities to acquire, engage and retain all-access subscribers; test and optimize marketing initiatives.
  • Use research and analytics to develop a deep understanding of the reader base and prospective subscribers.
  • Work with colleagues in consumer marketing and elsewhere to refine pricing and promotion strategy to maximize subscriber lifetime value and total revenue.
  • Measure and report channel and program effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred or minimum of two years of experience with a proven track record of results in multi-channel direct marketing and e-commerce experience.
  • Must be results-oriented, focused on driving KPIs, analyzing data and research.
  • Must have big-picture strategy view and roll-up-your-sleeves operational excellence.
  • Must have a test-and-learn mindset, skilled at interpreting data to inform and articulate broader strategy.
  • Must have excellent organizational and prioritization skills in order to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be collegial and collaborative, a relationship builder, able to work with a variety of teams and subject matter experts.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, confident in your knowledge with the ability to explain results, trends, strategies and in a variety of formats, from writing to building presentations to presenting in meetings.
  • Must have above average working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and technical skills sufficient to train on and use other company systems/applications such as Newscycle Solutions, Mather Listener and MG2.
